The producers of the program are honest, they tell you actually have to put in the work – This is important to me. As someone into yoga, strength training, competitive softball, cross fit training and just about everything to do with nutrition and fitness, I do not believe in that “magic button” garbage that some fitness products try to sell you. You actually have to put in some effort, and I am always willing to do that. You probably believe this too. I have personal done p90x several times over the years. I know how damn hard it is and what it feels like the first month trying to keep up.
 So, when I bought p90x3 I had my reservations about it.

Once I finished the first workout I was just pumped! Hell I could even walk afterwards which if you have done p90x Plyo you would relate to that comment because it was insane. It all depends on how strong you are. For women I could see you needing a 3lb and 5lb weight for some of the triceps exercises and shoulder exercises you will be doing. I personally had to use 10lb dumbbells on some of the shoulder exercises. With that said when you buy the program make sure you pick up resistance bands if you do not own a pair or you do not have dumbbells at home.

cross fit shoes for p90x3The other advice I would give you is to use shoes that are neutral. So, most running shoes help with pronation or over-pronating. Basically they build up the shoe on the inside or outside. Long story short it makes it hard to land going side to side in some of the drills because the sole is not meant for that. It’s mean to help you correct your running. The beauty of it, is that I was done working out, showered and on my way back to work within 30 minutes. It was the perfect workout to do over lunch!

Anyways, I thought I would share my review of the product and cut straight through the crap so you can decide if this is right for you.

These workouts seem to be all about improving mobility, balance, flexibility, and core strength. Are these things important? Absolutely. Are they what I was looking for in a workout program? No. That’s where the problem was… These are great workouts for some people, but they weren’t for us. Of course, maybe if we could have physically completed all of the moves, we would have seen better results. So, did we see any results after 90 days on the program? This workout focuses on explosive power and launching moves. Moves like bounding jumps, squats, “elevator” squats, push-ups, pull-ups, pop hops, plyo (read: jumping) push-ups (that were too hard for me, but I could modify), and a squat-lunge-spin combo that I liked. I like this workout and plan to keep doing it, even though there are some moves I’m not crazy about. There are several excellent leg-strengthening moves that will be great for my running! You may have already guessed what my final opinion will be if you’ve read my first two reviews. Overall, this program was not for me. I’m hesitant to say I didn’t like it…but…it didn’t inspire me. My husband and I did these workouts together every morning…and we just could not get into them. There were too many “body strength” moves and not enough free weights. We love lifting weights! Plus, we weren’t even physically capable of doing many of the moves.
